I have been digging for about 40 years on and off and metal detecting for about 5 years. I mostly dig here in Monmouth County, NJ and find bottles ranging from 1880's to 1950's. I can share one or two of my digging spots with you. However, I would like to dig older dumps or privy/outhouses. All of my mint, open pontil bottles have been purchased over the years at shows, only ones I ever found were broken! As for metal detecting, I have found buttons from the 1800's and coins from the 1900's. I think I will have to upgrade my detector to find more... Look forward to digging with you!
